Welcome to the Mayer Lab @ RuG
We are a new research group at the Stratingh Institute for Chemistry at the University of Groningen and focus on reprogramming the cellular machinery for man-made innovations. Our research interests center around repurposing established genetic code expansion techniques for bioprocess strategies that enable the production of value-added compounds from readily available precursors. Specifically, we will utilize orthogonal translation systems for drug discovery and to evaluate or tailor both enzymatic and non-enzymatic reactivities.
We are currently looking for a PhD student to join our growing team!
